FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about Aurem and entitlement access.

What is Aurem?

Aurem is an entitlement access gateway that sits between media sites and their users. It handles authentication, entitlement verification, tokenization, and access routing in a single system.

How does the activation process work?

You select a payment option on the site's activate page, complete checkout with the chosen provider, and are then redirected back with a confirmation. The media site verifies your access using a token issued by Aurem.

Which payment providers are supported?

Supported providers vary by media site. Common options include Patreon, NOW Payments, and SubscribeStar. Each site configures which providers they accept.

Is my payment information stored by Aurem?

No. Aurem does not store payment details, credit card numbers, or billing information. All payment processing is handled directly by the provider you choose during checkout. Aurem only stores the resulting entitlement status and an opaque reference token.

What is an access token?

An access token is a unique identifier issued after successful entitlement verification. The media site uses this token to confirm your access level without needing access to your payment provider details.

How do I get help with a specific media site?

For issues related to a specific media site, contact that site's support team directly. They have access to your account details and can assist with troubleshooting.

How do I cancel my membership?

To cancel, visit your membership settings on the provider's site (Patreon, NOW Payments, etc.). Cancellation is managed entirely through the provider, not through Aurem.
